Last blog

To be honest, I'm pretty impressed about my blog experience, I thought it would be very boring, but it turned out to be quite entertaining. So my experience was really good, I enjoyed each of the blogs because mainly what we did was to talk about our tastes. Although there were more difficult subjects than others because of the vocabulary that I had to use.

Blogs helped me improve my English because I put grammar tenses into practice, which was something that cost me the most, but still, I still have a lot to learn.

I think one of the advantages of blogs is that they make the class much more fun, which is a motivation to learn. But one of the disadvantages is that writing is more practiced than speech.

I think that to get more out of blogs, they could be combined with oral sessions, it could be that the topic of the blog, in addition to writing it, make a speech to classmates, which would be much more interactive and would put into practice writing, speaking and listening at the same time.

A place I would like to visit

Hawaii

Imagen relacionadaA place I would like to visit is Hawaii because I come from the coast and I love the heat and the beach. From what I've seen in photos, commercials and movies, it seems to be a very beautiful place. I imagine lying on those white sands and bathing in those turquoise waters, forgetting everything.

I think that since I was very young I have in my mind to visit Hawaii and probably because in the movies it shows it as a tropical paradise.

Although at some point in my life I intend to travel alone, now I would like to travel with my boyfriend. He is also my friend and my partner, so a trip with him to my dream destination would be wonderful.

I would like to live in Hawaii and work as a forestry engineer, I would definitely stay for a long time in that place but not forever, because I would like to visit many other places and also go back to my roots at some point.

My favourite tree or plant

Palma Chilena or Jubaea chilensis

Imagen relacionadaMy favourite plant is the Palma Chilena, and I say "plant" and not "tree" because according to botanists Palma is not a tree but a giant gress. The reason for that is that Palma does not have a real trunk, that is you can't get wood from it.
Palma is my favourite plant because it seems beautiful to me, It reminds me a warm summer day on the beach, the sea, the sand and the sea breeze, that is, a moment of peace and tranquility for me.

Palma has a cylindrical trunk, it can grow up to 30 m in height and with diameters between 0.8 and 1.1 cm. It has large leaves grouped at the end of the trunk next to its fruits. Palma is an endemic species of the Mediterranean area in central Chile. It is distributed inside the sclerophyllous forest and coexists with species such as Quillay, Peumo, Espino and Boldo. At present the distribution of the species is located between the regions of Coquimbo and Maule.

Palma Chilena is in a state of vulnerable conservation according to the Libro Rojo de la flora terrestre de Chile.

My favourite piece of technology

Smartphone & loved music

My favourite piece of technology is my smartphone. The one that I have now, I got it for more than a year, but throughout my life I got had many more. I like it because I can use it for many things, and anywhere; to make calls, take photos, see the weather, set alarms, see the time, even to study. But for what I like the most, is because I can listen to music. That makes my life less terrible and my trips less boring, because as I live away from the university, it took me more than a hour and that is exhausting. Also, as my family lives on the coast, every weekend I travel to visit them. And I go the whole trip listening to music. So with all the trips I have to do, it would be a tragedy for me to lose my smartphone now.

Now that I think of it, my second favourite piece of technology is headphones.

Why did you choose this career?

Why I choose Forestry

When I was a child I used to do that I was a dancer, a gymnast, or a circus artist. I used to go from one place to another dancing and making pirouettes with my body. Then, I grew up and I began to think that maybe I could not live from it. So during high school I never really knew what I would like to study.
I even thought studying nothing at all, what makes me applied to PDI but I woke up right away. On the way, I realized about my love for nature and I looked for some career about it, and I found Forestry.
Since then, 3 years have passed and it was a good experience. I learned and I'm still learning a lot. I have made very good friends.

When I finish this career I would like to travel around the world for some years and maybe find a good job related to my career in a tropical country and be very happy.

Vale is a really loose person, so she prefers to do things that don't make her move, like read. But when she feels motivated she can do many things, like playing football. Lately, she has decided to reivent her life, and stop having a sendetary life so she took football classes, a mathematic assistantship and other things that she prefer not to tell.
